Outpatient Treatment

Universal Community Services provides its clients with a safe and welcoming environment for clients that need substance abuse and psychoeducation groups. The average length of the stay will be 30 days with the expectation for continued treatment at the IOP/OP Level of care. Clients will receive treatment for therapist, case management, group counseling and access to a medical provider. Clients will engage in 12 hours of group and individual counseling

Our outpatient program provides a versatile solution, granting individuals the opportunity to undergo treatment during daytime hours and return home while engaging in additional outpatient programs. This approach empowers individuals to establish an equilibrium between accessing vital support and meeting their personal obligations.

Conducting an initial assessment of an individual's unique circumstances and treatment requirements enables us to make an informed decision regarding the suitability of outpatient treatment.

Outpatient programs, in terms of the services offered, bear striking resemblances to residential alternatives. Many similar treatment modalities are available within outpatient care, encompassing various proven therapies that aid individuals in their recovery from substance misuse. Our competent staff diligently monitors these symptoms and presents a range of beneficial services and psychological choices, thereby minimizing physical discomfort and addressing emotional challenges like anxiety or depression.

Another noteworthy aspect is that outpatient treatment comes at a more affordable cost compared to residential care. This affordability proves particularly advantageous for individuals seeking a cost-effective program that offers genuine flexibility.

Day or Night Treatment

Clients will engage in psychoeducation groups and individual counseling on a weekly basis. Clients will gain insight into substance abuse, triggers, 12 steps and medication management. Clients will have access to medical providers if they require medication assistance. The average length of stay is 30 days of treatment.

For many individuals seeking treatment, the conventional 24/7 residential programs can be overly demanding. Balancing work commitments, family responsibilities, and daily life can make it challenging to commit to such intensive programs. At Universal Community Services, we recognize the need for a more flexible and accessible approach to addiction treatment.

Our alternative to traditional residential treatment is the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). This outpatient program offers a less rigid structure while still delivering comprehensive care. During PHP, clients spend their days at our treatment facility, engaging in group therapy, individual therapy, and a range of other treatment services.

What sets our PHP apart is the ability for clients to maintain their daily lives outside of treatment hours. After completing their day at the facility, clients have the option to return to their homes or reside in a supportive, structured sober living environment offsite. This approach acknowledges the importance of addressing addiction within the context of an individual's real-world responsibilities and challenges, making recovery more attainable for a broader range of people.

Enrolling in our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in Universal Community Services offers numerous benefits. Many individuals find themselves in a transitional phase after completing residential treatment but are not yet ready to conclude their treatment journey, particularly if they have struggled with addiction for an extended period.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment

Our facility offers a safe and wellness space for clients seeking treatment for substance abuse. Clients will participate in psychoeducational groups, individual counseling and access to medication management. All clients will receive services from LCSW, LMHC and group counselors specializing in substance abuse and mental health. Clients will be seen weekly at this level of care.

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) offer a structured treatment approach during the day or evening, specifically designed to address alcoholism, addiction, dual diagnosis disorders, and mental health concerns without the need for continuous supervision. At our Miami-based Intensive Outpatient Program, it often serves as the next phase in an individual's recovery journey following detox or residential treatment.

At Universal Community Services' IOP in Miami, we build upon the effective methods employed during detox and residential treatment, applying them to a real-world context. The focus of our IOP is on equipping individuals with the tools to navigate the initial stages of recovery, including managing stressors, recognizing triggers, and addressing cravings.

It's important to note that our IOP does not provide round-the-clock care and support as seen in residential settings. Instead, our program encourages autonomy and independence, empowering clients to take ownership of their recovery while benefiting from structured guidance and therapy.

There are numerous advantages to participating in IOP at Universal Community Services in Miami. One of the primary benefits is our dual diagnosis treatment approach, which recognizes that a significant portion of individuals struggling with addiction also contend with at least one co-occurring mental health disorder. Our dual diagnosis approach focuses on concurrently addressing both conditions, enabling individuals to make accelerated progress in both areas of their well-being.

Our IOP program plays a pivotal role in preparing individuals for the transition to regular outpatient rehab. The valuable lessons and skills acquired during IOP extend far beyond the duration of the program. Many participants discover that the foundations they established during IOP serve as enduring building blocks for a robust and sustained recovery, even as they continue with less time-intensive treatment options.
